The Society for Relief of Widows and Orphans of Medical Men.
The Society is one of the oldest, but not the largest membership
Societies assisting necessitous widows, widowers and orphans and
dependants of doctors in times of hardship. As such we have many
years of experience but total flexibility. We are a mutual provident
fund with charitable status that allows us to use funds surplus to
the needs of our own members to help other doctors and their
necessitous dependants.
The Society for Relief of Widows and Orphans of Medical Men is a
registered charity and is governed by its Royal Charter,
Supplemental Royal Charter and By-Laws.
The Society exists to support medical practitioners and/or their
necessitous dependants who find themselves in severe financial
hardship.
There are three ways this help may be given:
• Regular payments to widows, widowers and dependants.
• The provision of one-off grants when urgent help is required.
• Financial assistance with educational expenses.
If you need assistance and think that you may qualify for help,
please contact the Society's office:
